Travel and food documentary program, Pinas Sarap, has been awarded the Philippine Tourism Excellence Award for Travel Show at the Department of Tourism’s inaugural Philippine Tourism Awards held last September 8 at Okada Manila.
Hosted by award-winning broadcast journalist Kara David, Pinas Sarap takes viewers on a culinary journey across the Philippines, showcasing heritage recipes and emerging food trends.
Besides promoting local delicacies, the popular GTV program also emphasizes sustainable practices in the communities it visits, serving as a platform for different towns, cities, and provinces to share their unique culinary stories with both local and global audiences.
The Pinas Sarap host expressed her heartful gratitude for the prestigious award, promising to continue the program’s mission.
“Maraming maraming salamat po sa Philippine Tourism Awards sa parangal na ito. Makakaasa po kayo na kami sa Pinas Sarap ay patuloy po naming paghuhusayan at gagalingan pa ang paggawa ng mga kwento tungkol sa mga pagkain, kasaysayan, at kultura ng Pilipinas.”
The inaugural Philippine Tourism Awards honored 51 Pillar Awardees and 32 Tourism Industry Awardees across diverse categories, ranging from enterprises and destinations to individuals and associations, for their significant contributions to Philippine tourism.
Now in its eight year, Pinas Sarap continues to promise more exciting culinary adventures, celebrating the country's rich food culture and innovations.
