Singco Mano’s ‘Manong, (’Wag Po),’ is an anthem for hopeless romantics

Two and a half months after their official signing, OPM band Singco Mano releases its newest single under AltG Records, “Manong, (’Wag Po)”. The song explores the band’s collective identity as hopeless romantics.

Singco Mano is a five-piece ensemble hailing from Pampanga and Bataan, composed of Paul Santana (Vocals), Ernest Suing (Drums), Nate Mendoza (Bass), David Legaspi (Keys), and Gello Roque (Guitar). Signed to AltG Records last January 29, 2026, the band draws heavy inspiration from 70s icons such as Cinderella, Hagibis, Hotdog, and VST & Co.

The band wrote “Manong, (’Wag Po)” fairly quickly. Paul shared, “The lyrics and music were done in one sitting. The song captures the essence of love - whether lost or found, it was love. If you love someone, you want to spend every second with him/her. We took that feeling and the vision of a passing jeepney and translated it into ‘Manong, (’Wag Po).’”

Singco Mano expresses their warm gratitude towards GMA Music and AltG Records for welcoming them with open arms. “It was very unexpected. The band was only one year old when AltG Records contracted us. We feel taken care of under AltG Records, and we know that this is the place where we can produce our best music,” Ernest said.

Nate, coming from Bataan, shared how difficult it is to discover talents from provinces and be signed under a label. “We all know that there are limited opportunities for bands hailing from provinces. If I hadn’t met these boys, I wouldn’t have the opportunities I have now. I feel at home with Singco Mano.”

Singco Mano has big plans for future releases and wishes their listeners to look forward to more music and fun now that they are under AltG Records.

“Manong, (’Wag Po)” by Singco Mano is now available worldwide on major streaming platforms.
